AT THE CASEY - O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - WATERBURY CT. Evelyn C. (Conway) Lockhart, age 87, of Lyman Rd Wolcott, died unexpectedly on Monday at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the widow of Roy F. Lockhart Sr.
Evelyn was born in Waterbury on May 24, 1923, daughter of the late Edward and Harriet (Nuhn) Conway. She was educated in local schools, graduated from Wilby High School, and worked for many years as a Customer Service Representative at Mattatuck Bank. Evelyn enjoyed playing bingo at the senior center, her weekly trips to the hairdresser, and spending time with family and friends. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church.
Evelyn is survived by her two children, daughter, Cynthia Hoos, with whom she made her home, and son, Roy F. Lockhart Jr. and his wife Jane of Needham MA. She also leaves her five grandchildren, Dustin Guarino and his wife Alexis, Deidre Richards and her husband Restford, Catherine Lockhart, Roy William Lockhart, and Edward Lockhart as well as her five great grandchildren, Gabriel Updegraff, Kadeem Richards, Kemani Richards, Kaleah Richards, and Addison Guarino. Evelyn was predeceased by her brothers, Edward, Walter, William, and Robert Conway and her sister, Mae Sweeney. She also leaves her life long friend, Margaret "Sooky" Troland, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lockhart will be held on Friday January 14, 2011 at 8:30am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St Waterbury to St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St, Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 5 till 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mrs. Lockhart's memory may be made to the St. Francis Xavier Church, 625 Baldwin St Waterbury CT.
