Bristol - Mrs. Evelyn A. Start, age 66. formerly of Plainville, passed away peacefully on Friday May 4th 2012 at Ingraham Manor, surrounded by her loving family after a extended illness.
Mrs. Start was born September 6th 1945, the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Bickford) Tompkins. She was educated in local schools and worked as a home heath aide for many years before retiring. When Evelyn wasn't spending time with her cherished grandchildren and family she would often be out looking for the best bargain at any Tag Sale she could find. She also enjoyed many types of arts and crafts.
Among her survivors are her son, Robert Start, and his wife Chaisty of Waterbury, her daughter Susan Start, of Torrington; her stepdaughter Dawn Armbruster, of Terryville; her four grandchildren, Robert, Steven, Tori, and Jesse; her great grandson Aidean, as well as various extended family members and close friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Start will be held on Saturday, May 12th, 2012 at 10:30am at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury CT 06705. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in West Cemetery in Bristol.
