"A life well lived with family and friends"
WATERBURY - Evette Collins Rayel, age 98 was faithfully entrusted to the hands of God on Thursday January 20, 2022, almost eight years to the day of her beloved husband, Michael E. Rayel.
Evette was a devoted and faithful wife to Mike for 66 wonderful years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother with a wit and charming sense of humor that drew people to her like bees to a colorful flower. Born in Watertown CT, the first of six children a daughter of the late Mary (Lampron) and Conrad Collins. Evette often reminisced about her childhood and being raised on a small family farm. She was always at her best being surrounded by her extended Lampron family including Aunts, Uncles and cousins descended from 17 siblings of the Lampron clan. Evette attended St. John the Evangelist Grammar School and Watertown High School and participated in many volunteer efforts here at home, with the "Waves" during World War II. She met her husband at "Frenches" a division of the American Brass Company. She famously stood him up on the first date but he couldn't resist and gave her a second chance. Evette treasured the many wonderful times she shared with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was so very proud of each and every one of them.
