WATERBURY- Mr. Felix "Chiringo" Gonzalez, age 81, husband of Sonia Gonzalez passed away on Friday, April 30, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital.
Mr. Gonzalez was born in Penuelas, Puerto Rico, one of the 13 children of the late Jose Gonzalez and Mercedez Rodriguez. He was a self-employed carpenter before migrating to the U.S. in 2009. "Chiringo" was a loving, caring and selfless person who enjoyed playing el cuatro and playing dominoes with his siblings.
He was a good Christian man and a member of the Levantando Al Caido Church in Waterbury where his sister, Luz Gonzalez is the Pastor.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, besides his wife, Sonia of 42 years, are his six children; Frank and his wife, Miriam Gonzalez, Anna Murillo-Gonzalez and her husband, Martin, Joe and his wife, Yolanda Gonzalez, Nitza Gonzalez and her husband, Julio Muniz, Zorraida Torres-Gonzalez and her husband, Alexis Torrez, Nory Gonzalez and her fiancé, Mark Anthony Jesus Jimenez. Felix was blessed with ten grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Funeral Services for Mr. Gonzalez will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at Casey's Eastside Memorial 1987 East Main St. at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Felix's family on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. till the service at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Despite reductions if COVID #19 precautions, we are all still very concerned about everyone's health and safety so masks and social distancing will be required so that you can be assured of a safe, orderly and comforting environment to express your support to the Gonzalez family.
