THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE SERVING AND ASSISTING THE FAMILY OF FLORENCE BROWN
NAUGATUCK - Mrs. Florence Brown of Naugatuck, Connecticut peacefully entered into eternal rest January 24, 2019, at Beacon Brook Health Care in Naugatuck, Connecticut.
Mrs. Brown was Born December 24, 1926, to the late Joe and Florence (Myers) Blanks in Columbia SC. Mrs. Brown was a long time resident of Bridgeport Ct before moving to Naugatuck, CT. She was an active member of the Bridgeport Shiloh Baptist Church Senior Usher Board for many years. Mrs. Florence Brown will be remembered for her warm smiles and gentle personality. She adored her children and grandchildren, she loved people, she gave worth to all and sincerely valued their individuality and their opinions.
Florence and James Brown, her beloved husband and soulmate of 66 years, predeceased, were blessed with six children. She was also predeceased by daughters Dianne Brown, her son Anthony Brown, of Mount Vernon, New York, and Rochelle Terry Brown, of Waterbury, Connecticut.
Those left to love and cherish her memory and to mourn her loss are her children Delores (Melvin) Turman, of Naugatuck, CT, Joanne (Tommy Romano) Brown, of Waterbury, CT, Julie Marie Brown, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, James Brown, Jr., Waterbury, CT, seventeen grandchildren, Lisa D., Michael J., Gary L. Turman, Melissa (Tifari) Surgeon, Erica R. Brown, Triston (Dominica) Harris, Daisette, Christina, Jenifer, Sabria, Dwayne, Tamisha, Yolanda Brown, Vincent J. Taylor Jr., Chelsey Harris, La'Venus Brown, Tabias Nwaogbe and a host of grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Brown will be held on Thursday January 31, 2019 at the Zion Baptist Church 137 Pearl St Waterbury CT 06704 with the Rev John McDaniel, officiating. Visitation with Mrs. Brown's family will be held from 10:00 till 11:00 a.m. at the church with the service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck CT.
