AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
Cheshire - Frances Callahan, age 92, of Summit Rd Cheshire, died Sunday, November 8th 2009 at the Paradigm Health Center of Prospect after a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of Matthew Callahan for over 53 years.
Mrs. Callahan was born December 2nd 1916 in New York, New York, the daughter of the late Paul and Penelope Karey. She was raised in the Philadelphia area where she attended local schools prior to moving to Cheshire with her husband in 1957. She was a loving and dedicated homemaker who enjoyed gardening, and reading. She was an avid Red Sox fan and a parishioner of the Church of the Epiphany, Cheshire.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Callahan is survived by her sister in-law, Sheila Cook and her husband Roy of Prospect as well as several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her three brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Callahan's family would like to acknowledge The Visiting Nurses Association of Cheshire, The Paradigm Health Center of Prospect, and to Vitas Hospice for their loving, compassionate care and concern over the past several weeks.
Funeral services for Mrs. Callahan will be held on Wednesday, November 11th at 9:00am from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St. Waterbury to The Church of Epiphany 1750 Huckins Rd, Cheshire, CT in Cheshire for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Memorial donations in memory of Mrs. Callahan can be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Cheshire 1781 Highland Ave, Cheshire, Ct 06410.
