WATERTOWN- Frances M. Desena, age 73 of Watertown, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on November 6, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the devoted wife of Louis J. Desena.
Frances was born September 17, 1946, in Waterbury CT, the daughter of the late Alba (Cellupica) Rainchuso and John Rainchuso. She was a graduate of Wilby High School and a lifelong resident of Watertown. Frances was employed by The Taft School working in the bookstore for over 25 years. She enjoyed meeting with her friends every morning at Watertown McDonald's and her trips to Mohegan Sun. But above all, Frances loved spending time with her family. Her life revolved around her sons, her devoted husband and her grandchildren. Frances will always be remembered for her wit and her generous heart. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy, besides her husband of 53 years, are her two sons; Michael Desena and his wife, Lana of Oakville and Mark Desena and his wife, Gretta of Watertown. She also leaves her brother, John Rainchuso and his wife, Nancy of Waterbury. Frances was blessed with her three grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life; Daniel, Ashley and Alexander Desena. She also leaves behind, several nieces and nephews as well as her lifelong friend, Irene Melko. The Desena family would like to acknowledge and thank the dedicated staff of St. Mary's Hospital; especially the staff in the ICU.
Funeral services for Mrs. Desena will be held on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Church, 574 Main St. Watertown, CT 06795. All those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. At the wishes of the family there will be no public visitation.
