Devoted to her family and her faith
WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness that the family of Frances (Pettinicchi) Nardoia age 93 of Waterbury share the news of her peaceful passing on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at the Village of East Farms after a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of Michael Nardoia.
Mrs. Nardoia was born on April 2, 1931 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late John and Luisa Pettinicchi. A lifelong resident of Waterbury, Frances was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School. She worked for many years in the family business, East End Convalescent Home. While she and Michael did not have any children, their nieces and nephews enjoyed their many years of loving devotion. She had a profound devotion to St Francis of Assisi which translated to her love of animals. She enjoyed shopping with her sisters and family, and an occasional trip to the casino. Michael and Frances’ sisters share profound gratitude for the time they shared with her, the love and memories they enjoyed and their blessed life together. Frances was exceptional in almost every way but she excelled the most at being a devoted wife, sister and aunt. May her memory be a blessing to all.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory besides her husband are her sisters; Pauline DiChiara and Grace Ducharme both of Waterbury, her brother and sister-in-law; George and Catherine DeFloria of Vernon and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Elvira “Hilda” Moreau. There are no words adequate to express the appreciation our family has for the care and love shown to all of us, and especially for Frances by staff at the Cheshire House, The Village at East Farms and Accentcare. They are a true credit to their profession.
