TORRINGTON - Francis J. Brown, age 92, of Fern Drive, formerly of Waterbury passed away Thursday, February 20, 2014 at Paradigm Healthcare Center of Torrington. He was the widower of Ruth M. (Miller) Brown.
Frank was born February 11, 1922 in Waterbury, a son of the late Francis J. and Mary Loretta (Meldrum) Brown. He was educated in Waterbury schools and prior to his retirement in 1987, was employed by CL&P as a gas worker. Frank proudly served his country in the US Navy in WWII.
He leaves a daughter Nancy E. Viltrakis and her husband Gary of Harwinton, a son Robert J. Brown and his wife Juanita of Idaho, eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is predeceased by his sister Loretta Heald.
A graveside service will be held on Monday February 24, 2014 at 12 p.m. in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown. There are no calling hours.
