WATERBURY - Francis "Frank" H. Hackett, age 91 passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, August 12, 2016. He was the husband of Eleanor (Midgley) Hackett.

Frank was born August 2, 1925 in Waterbury, the son of the late Henry F. and Margaret (Dillon) Hackett. A lifelong Waterbury resident, he attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and Wilby High School. Frank worked in the Mills Division of Scovill and Century Brass for 43 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Top Hatters Choral Group for 25 years, also singing with the Young at Heart "Happy Timers" and Mario & Co. Frank enjoyed singing at nursing homes and bringing joy to the residents of these homes. A communicant and lector of St. Patrick's Church for over 60 years, Frank was past-president of the Holy Name Society, a 3rd Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus (Fathers Duggan-Zebris Council #13424) and also a volunteer at Waterbury Hospital for 15 years. He was also active in his neighborhood and served as President of the Murray Park Community Club. He was a regular patron of The Cave on East Main Street where he had many friends and acquaintances. He enjoyed spending time with his "Cave family" and he especially enjoyed singing Irish songs there every St. Patrick's Day.

Besides his devoted wife of 68 years, Frank leaves his children; his two sons, Terrence (Sandra) Hackett of St. Pete Beach, Florida; Brian Hackett (Jennifer Philbrick) of Plantsville, CT and his daughter, Karen Hackett (Bob Carlisle) of Chicago, IL. He also leaves his two grandsons, Justin Hackett and Ryan Hackett; two granddaughters, Lorraine Hackett and Marissa Hackett Pierson and one great grandson, Jayden Serencko. He is also survived by his youngest sister, Patricia (Pat) Hackett of Cheshire. He was predeceased by his son, Thomas Hackett, two brothers, Joseph and Raymond and two sisters, Bernice Nolan and Claire Wallinger.

Funeral services for Mr. Hackett will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 9:15 from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home, 1987 East Main St. Waterbury CT to St Patrick's Church 50 Charles St Waterbury when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends may visit with Frank's family on Tuesday evening from 4:00 till 7:00pm at the funeral home.
