WATERBURY - Mr. Francis J. Leary age 81, of Ramona St. Waterbury, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Saint Mary's Hospital with his devoted daughter and family by his side after a brief illness. He was the widower of Edith (Barkauskas) and Elaine (Lucian Maxwell) Leary.
Mr. Leary was born November 10th 1931 in Waterbury, the son of the late Daniel and Jane (Walsh) O'Leary. He attended local schools and worked most of his life as a meat cutter at A&P Supermarkets before his retirement. After retirement, Frank worked for the State of Connecticut, as a Judicial Marshall for several years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sheriden Council, where he served as former Grand Knight. Francis enjoyed politics and was a member of the Waterbury Democratic Town Committee and the Young Democratic Club.
Frank is survived by his daughter, Cynthia VanDeursen and her fiancé Gary Swircenski with whom he shared his home as well as his children, Leslie DiVenere, Erin Latino, Thomas Maxwell, Susan Maxwell, Elizabeth Maxwell and her fiancé Pasquale Marcuccio, Meghan Maxwell and her husband James Grevas, eight grandchildren including Daniel J. VanDeursen and three great grandchildren. Frank was pre-deceased by his brothers, Daniel T. O'Leary and Andrew F. O'Leary
