“Devoted to his family”

KINGSLAND GA - Francis J. Thibault age 71 of Kingsland, GA, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully at the St. Mary’s Senior Care Center on Wednesday, October 4 th , 2023, surrounded by the love and comfort of family after an extended illness. He was the widower of the late, Sandra L. (Brown) Thibault.

Francis was born September 30, 1952 in Hartford, CT, the son of the late John F. Thibault and Dorothy (Imperato) Thibault Petkevicius. He was a graduate of Watertown High School and thereafter, joined the U. S. Army. He spent approximately 4 years proudly serving our country. Francis ultimately became a long-haul truck driver and he absolutely loved being out on the road. He was a die-hard NASCAR fan, loved the New England Patriots, Florida State Seminoles, and the NY Yankees. He loved his family. It brought him great joy when the family would come together for the holidays, cookouts, birthdays, and just about any occasion that would bring everyone together. We thank you, Dad, for the unconditional love and amazing hugs you would give every time we walked in or out your door. You are loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his children: Jennifer L. Stemple of Kingsland, GA, Linda M. Gilley of Kingsland, GA, John A. Thibault and his wife, Amber of Kingsland, GA. Francis was blessed with grandchildren and a great grandchild. He also leaves behind a brother, Mark Thibault and wife, Cheryl of Torrington and a sister, Alicia Hawes and husband, Dave of Waterbury as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Angel Thibault.

Funeral services for Mr. Thibault will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 when you are invited to visit with his family at the Casey-O’Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St., Oakville, from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m. Graveside committal services will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Watertown, at 12 noon.
