WATERBURY - Frank S. Rafferty, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, on his 90th birthday, at St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of the late Angela (Connolly) Rafferty.

Frank was born in Keady, County Armagh, Ireland on May 5, 1925, the son of the late Bernard and Anne (Stuart) Rafferty. Schooled in Ireland, he immigrated to the United States in 1946 and entered the US Army and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He married his childhood sweetheart, Angela in 1954 and lived with their 6 children in Kearny NJ where Frank worked as a machinist in the steel industry. Frank and Angela returned to Ireland in 1970 where Frank farmed and even owned an Irish Pub. They returned to the US in 1985. Frank was well known as a "handyman". Most of all, Frank enjoyed traveling to spend time with his family. He was always happiest surrounded by family. He was a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church.

Frank is survived by his 6 children; sons, Patrick and his wife Catherine and Frank and his wife Helena all of Watertown, his sons Brian and his wife Maria and Gerard and his wife Patricia all of Tenafly NJ, his daughter, Anne Harvey and her husband Eugene of Waterbury with whom Frank made his home and his daughter, Teresa of Bergenfield NJ. He also leaves 18 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Rafferty will be held on Friday, May 8, 2015 at 11:00am at Saints Peter and Paul Church 65 Southmayd Rd Waterbury, CT. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Military honors for Frank will be held directly after the Mass at the Church. Burial will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Keady, County Armagh, Ireland. Family and friends may visit with Frank's family on Thursday evening from 5:00 ~ 7:00 pm at Eastside Memorial "A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME AND TRIBUTE CENTER" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Memorial donations in Frank's memory may be made to Saints Peter and Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, CT 06705.
