WATERTOWN CT - Mr. Frederick E. Dillon, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of his family on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Alice (Krusko) Dillon.
Mr. Dillon was born on June 4, 1925 in Waterbury, the son of the late Michael and Gladys (Preiss) Dillon. Fred was born, lived and raised a family in Waterbury. He was a WWII veteran who proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Hornet in the Pacific Theater. He was employed as a metal lather and worked in the area for the construction trades union. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family at "the camp" on Panther Pond in Raymond, Maine.
Besides his wife, Alice, Frederick is survived by his daughter - Linda Shea of Watertown, his grandson - Christopher Shea and his wife Anita, and his adoring great granddaughter, Sophia. He also leaves a brother, Eugene Dillon and his wife Dorothy of Waterbury. He was predeceased by his son, Frederick D. Dillon in 2004.
Funeral services for Mr. Dillon will be private and held at the convenience of his family. EASTSIDE MEMORIAL "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center," (1987 East Main St., Waterbury) has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
