Mrs. Gabrielle Pirone

WATERBURY - It is with profound sadness that the family of Gabrielle (Pelletier) Pirone, age 96 of Waterbury, share news of her peaceful passing on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the Vitas Inpatient Unit of St Mary’s Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of her family.

Gabrielle was born on January 8, 1929, in Three Rivers, Canada, the daughter of the late Aggee and Lucrece Pelletier. She attended local schools and graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School. After school Gabrielle worked for several years at Wheeler Wire and then went on to work as a dental hygienist. Gabrielle enjoyed being a volunteer foster grandparent at both Blessed Sacrament Church and St. Joseph Schools, along with being a part of a senior citizen club. She spent time crafting ceramics, playing cards with her friends, and cooking delicious food. Gabrielle’s greatest joys in life came from her family and her faith and while she had a wide array of interests, talents and accomplishments, her greatest pleasure came from being a devoted mother, grandmother and aunt. She will be deeply missed by all those who were blessed to love and know her.

Left to cherish her memory, is her daughter, Judy Pirone, granddaughters; Felicia Pirone and her fiancé Chris, and Chantelle Burauskas, along with nieces, extended family and friends. Gabrielle was predeceased by her daughter, Marie Burauskas and son, Ronald Pirone.

Funeral services for Mrs. Pirone will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Disciples Parish, Saint Mary Magdalen Church, 14 Buckingham Street Oakville. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours.
