WATERBURY - Garry "Stretch" A. Richardson, age 72, of Waterbury, passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2022, at home surrounded by his loving family after a strong courageous battle with cancer. He was the husband of Suzanne Shields Pardee Richardson.
Garry was born October 5, 1949, to the late Francis and Vivian (Matey) Richardson. He was a graduate of Warren Harding High School in Bridgeport and then went on to have a successful career as an injection molding technician. Garry loved deep sea fishing, was a UConn basketball fan and was an avid bowler at both Lakewood and Wolcott Lanes. What Garry loved the most was spending time with his beloved dog, Daisy Duke and their adventures to Hamilton Park every morning. He will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory besides his wife, Suzanne are his sons; Sean Pardee (Laura Hugel), Marc (Katie) Pardee, daughter, Jillian Phillips and grandchildren; Olivia, Luke, and Logan Pardee. He also leaves his siblings; Leigh Richardson, Peggy Richardson, Doug (Debbie) Richardson, Carol (Jim) Salisbury, Jeff Richardson, and Bob Richardson, his nieces and nephews; Ashley (Nick) Spang, Chad (Sarah) Melisky, Mike (Tammi) Melisky, Stephanie (Nathan) Reynolds, Jason (Nana) Carlson, Selena Richardson, Dontae Richardson, and Jayden Richardson. He was predeceased by his brother, John Richardson. He will undoubtedly be missed by his dog Daisy Duke Richardson.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m, followed by a brief Memorial Service of Remembrance for Mr. Richardson at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd, Waterbury, CT 06705. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in honor of Garry to either Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital
