WATERBURY- Mr. Eugene T. Parker, age 69 of Waterbury, entered into eternal peace, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family, on Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Mary's Hospital. He was the husband of Jean (Moynihan) Parker.
Mr. Parker was born on October 7, 1945 in Waterbury, the son of the late Michael and Beatrice (Meehan) Parker. He was educated in local schools, a graduate of Croft High School and proudly served his country in Vietnam as a Military Policeman (MP) for the United States Army. Gene was employed in the liquor wholesale and distribution industry for over 40 years, most recently as Director of Purchasing for Brescome Barton Inc. Gene enjoyed traveling with family and friends, playing golf and was an avid sports fan. He was a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church
Besides his devoted wife of 43years, Eugene leaves his children, Martin Parker and his wife Marly of Prospect and Christine Pesaturo and her husband Gregory of New Canaan. He also leaves a brother, Michael Parker of Ward CO and a sister, Ann Dellorfano of Waterbury as well as several nieces and nephews most especially Cindy Varrone and 4 grandchildren, Grace and Ella Parker and Brady and Owen Pesaturo who were the light of his life.
Funeral services for Mr. Parker with full military honors will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 9:30a.m. from Eastside Memorial, " A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center" To SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd. to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Committal services will follow in New St. Josephs Cemetery, Waterbury. Friends and family may visit with Gene's family on Friday from 4:00 till 7:00pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Mr. Parker's memory may be made to Vitas Innovative Care, 199 Park Rd.
