THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF GEORGE BARRIEAU.
"East End Legend"
WATERBURY -George Omer Barrieau, age 71, of Waterbury, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 26, 2020 at home.
George was born July 5th, 1948 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Camille and Anita (Comeau) Barrieau. He was educated in local schools and was part of the first graduating class of Kennedy High School. George spent close to 20 years working as a baker at Reymond's Bakery before pursuing his knack for building. He was a skilled craftsman and an owner/operator of G&R Siding until he retired in 2013.
George worked hard, and he played hard. A talented athlete and fan of a little friendly competition, he enjoyed playing softball, was a member of the Perrillo's bowling league, and was known as a bit of a pool shark for his incredible billiards skills. He was outgoing, always fun to be around, and had the ability to make instant friends with anyone he met. His presence will be missed at many of the establishments throughout the East End of Waterbury, including the Franco-American Social Club where he was a long-time member.
George was also an incredible father, and it is his sons who will miss him most of all. Left to cherish his memories and honor George's love and legacy, are his sons; Robert Barrieau and his wife, Carah of Waterbury, and Joseph Barrieau and his wife, Darcy of Middletown, RI. He also leaves his brother, Charles Barrieau of Watertown and his sister, Diane Barile of Southington. George was blessed with two adoring grandchildren, Mia and Maxwell. He was predeceased by his brother William Barrieau, Sr.
