OAKVILLE - George Belval age 87 of Oakville, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of his family on October 1, 2021 at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Judith (Goudreau) Belval for 63 wonderful years.
George was born on April 5, 1934 in Waterbury, the son of the late Rosario and Levina (Cheverette) Belval. He was educated in local schools and worked as a machinist for both Scovill Mfg. and Edson Mfg. until his retirement. Following retirement George and Judith traveled around the world enjoying their newfound time together after years of working hard. George also enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with his family including his brother and sisters in law. George was infamous for being extremely outgoing, always smiling with a wonderful contagious laugh and personality. He was a parishioner of St Mary Magdalen Church. He had a special love and bond with his wife and family as well as an extremely close relationship with his Lord and Savior.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory, besides his wife Judith of 63 years, are his 3 children; Theresa Diver and her husband Mark of Little River SC, Denise Hotchkiss and her husband Harold of Terryville CT and Michael Belval and his wife Julie of Watertown CT. George and Judith were blessed with 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He leaves behind a twin sister Janet of Venice FL and a brother Paul of Waterbury, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Belval will be held on Friday, October 8, 2021 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St Mary Magdalen Church 16 Buckingham St Oakville. Burial will follow in Mt Olivet Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
