THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO SERVE THE FAMILY OF George Desjardins DURING THIS DIFFICULT TIME.
WOLCOTT- George Joseph Desjardins, 73, went to be with the Lord, Monday, January 24, 2022 in Lake Lure, NC with his children by his side after battling a brief illness.
Mr. Desjardins was born in Waterbury CT on January 16, 1949 the son of the late Ernest Arthur Desjardins and Rita Marie (Charbonneau) Desjardins. George proudly served his country with the U.S. Air Force. He was a computer programmer with the New Haven Regional Water Authority and moved to North Carolina in 1999 where he worked and retired from Kemet Electronics Corp. Known to all as" Coach D and Georgie", he loved volunteering his time to help others in his community, including playing Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny. George was an avid golfer and fisherman. In both Wolcott and NC, he coached baseball, basketball, and golf for many years. He coached his Lake Lure Classical Academy golf team to the 2019 C.S.A.A state championship in North Carolina, for which he was very proud. George was a huge fan of the New York Yankees, UCONN Huskies, and the New York Giants. He made many close friendships, whom he considered like family. Above all, George cherished his title of Pepere which he received with the birth of his grandchildren in 2012.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his son, Robert Desjardins and wife, Weronika; his daughter, Karen St. Jean and husband, Jonathan; brother, Paul Desjardins; two grandchildren; Dominic Desjardins and Brooke St. Jean and two step grandchildren; Adrian Morin and Kirsten Morin. George leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind his former spouse, Diane Desjardins. He was predeceased by a sister, Florence Savage.
A Memorial Gathering to celebrate George's life will be held on Sunday, February 13, 2022 from 11:00 till 1:00 p.m. at Casey's Eastside Memorial and Cremation Services 1987 East Main St. @ Southmayd Rd. in Waterbury. We continue to remain very concerned about the ongoing pandemic so masks will be required during all indoor services regardless of your current vaccination status. Memories endure only if you share them, so you are encouraged to leave a condolence, words of comfort or personal memory with the Desjardins family on George's tribute page at
