SOUTHBURY - George J. Martin Jr., age 86, of Southbury, formally of Lords Valley PA, entered into eternal rest on Monday, November 26, 2018 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Marys Hospital..
George was born on March 11,1932 in Stamford, CT, the son of the late George J. Sr. and Mary (Polser) Martin. He enjoyed a career as a lineman, working for SNET/AT&T for 34 years before retirement. George was an avid outdoorsman, who had a passion for hunting and fishing. He proudly served his country as a U.S.Marine in the Korean War. He will be missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
He is survived by his sons, Ken Martin and his wife, Donna of Trumbull, Jeff Martin and his wife, Lowri of Brookfield, Donald Martin of Nebraska, and his daughter, Susan Martin of Arizona. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Joan M. Martin, his daughter in law, Patty Martin of Oregon, seven grandchildren and six greatgrandchildren. George was predeceased by his wife, Sandra J. Martin to whom he was married for 27 years, and his brother, Robert Martin of Bethel CT.
Funeral services for George will be held privately at the convenience of his family.
