WATERBURY - Gerald A. "Jerry" Dugan, age 59 of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief illness at Waterbury Hospital on Tuesday January 26, 2016. He was the widower of Diane K. (Opuszynski) Dugan.
Jerry was born September 3, 1956 in Waterbury, the son of the late John and Virginia (Christiano) Dugan. He worked as auto mechanic and machinist for various local companies. Jerry was a loving, caring and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother with many special and loyal friends who lived life to the fullest. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, The Naugatuck Polish American Club, and the Waterbury VFW Post# 201.
Among his survivors are his three sons, Gerald A. Dugan Jr. and his wife, Caitlin and their daughter, Ashlyn Rose Dugan of Bristol, Jason Dugan of Waterbury and John J. Dugan and his fiancé, Jessica Roessler of Danbury. He also leaves his siblings; Robert, and Dennis Dugan, of Waterbury, David Dugan, of Prospect, Sheila Patrick, of Waterbury, Diane Devit, of Prospect, and Virginia Feliciano of Waterbury. He was predeceased by his brothers John Jr. and Donald Dugan Sr. and his sister Denise Dugan.
Funeral Services for Mr. Dugan will be held on Friday, January 29, 2016 at 9:30 am at St. Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin St. Waterbury to celebrate a mass of Christian burial . Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held privately in All Saints Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Relatives and friends may visit with Jerry's family on Thursday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 p.m. at CASEY'S EASTSIDE MEMORIAL 1987 East Main St., Waterbury.
