WATERBURY - Gerald E. Grady, age 71 of Waterbury, died peacefully at his home surrounded by the love and comfort of his sister and caregiver, Rosemary Grady.
Gerald was born July 31, 1943, the son of the late Edward F. and Mary (Flaherty) Grady. He was a lifelong Waterbury resident and spent many years working as a dishwasher at Timex Corporation. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and the Waterbury Y.M.C.A. where he enjoyed playing ping pong and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Gerald always looked forward to getting together with his family, especially his nieces nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Among his survivors are his sister, Rosemary Grady with whom he shared his home as well as several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mr. Grady will be held on Thursday March 12, 2015 at 9:30am from EASTSIDE MEMORIAL "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center" (1987 East Main St. @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury) to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church 74 West Main St Waterbury when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Burial will follow in New Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Gerald's family at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 9:00 ~ 9:30am.. In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerald's memory may be made to the Greater Waterbury YMCA 136 West Main St Waterbury, CT 06702.
