WATERBURY - Gerald Rodriguez, age 58, of Waterbury CT, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 29, 2020 at Yale New Haven Hospital after an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of Daianna (Garcia) Rodriguez.
Gerry was born October 12, 1961 in Waterbury, CT, the son of the late Tomas and Genevieve Rodriguez. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School and spent many years working as a toolmaker for various manufacturing companies in the Cheshire area. Gerry enjoyed reading, and playing pool and was a diehard NY Giants and Mets fan. He was a member of the Waterbury PRYO Group and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sheriden Council #24 in Waterbury and he was a parishioner of Mary Mother of Church Parish. Gerry will be fondly remembered by all who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his love and memory, besides his wife, Daianna of 33 years, are his sons; Rubin and Justin Rodriguez of Waterbury as well as his siblings; Jose Rodriguez, Thomas (Margie) Rodriguez, Manuel (Becky) Rodriguez, and Carlos Rodriguez all of Waterbury, his sisters; Antonia (Dom) Ferrucci of Waterbury, Lillian (Eddie) Velez and Dolores Rodriguez of Port Charlotte FL, and Genevieve (Raul) Santiago of Waterbur y and numerous nephews and nieces . He was predeceased by his siblings; Miriam Joines, Robert Rodriguez, and Mary Ann Velez.
Due to the current governmental restrictions concerning COVID 19, funeral services for Mr. Rodriguez be limited to his immediate family. A live stream of the burial services will be webcast on the funeral home Facebook page on Tuesday May 5th 2020 at 11:00 a.m. from Calvary Cemetery Waterbury. Please go to
