Waterbury ?" Geraldine M. Welch, age 73, of Park Rd, formerly of Pittsburgh PA died Monday May 12th 2008 at Waterbury hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Donald Welsh.
Mrs. Welch was born August 8th 1934 in Waterbury, the daughter of the late William and Theresa (Connor) Murray. She was raised in the Waterbury area and graduated from Saints Peter and Paul Grammar School, Crosby High School and attended the University of Connecticut, before moving to Pittsburgh in 1979 and returned to Connecticut following the death of her husband in 2003. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Loreto Church and was a loving and dedicated wife and mother.
Among her survivors are two sons, Christopher Welch and his wife Sara of Takoma Park MD and Timothy Welch and his wife Diana of Greenville IN. a sister Ms. Mercedes Murray of Waterbury and six grandchildren, Taylor, Dori, Brogan, Brigid, Aidan, Caoilinn, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her brothers and sister William Murray Jr, Gloria Chemielnicki, and John Murray.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Welch will be held on Friday May 16th at 9:00 a.m. from the Casey ?" O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main Waterbury CT to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 12 Ardsley Rd Waterbury. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
