OAKVILLE CT Gertrude Jeanne (Barringer) Botelho, age 78, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, died on January 30, 2008 at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of Antone F. Botelho.

Gertrude was born on January 31, 1929 in Waterbury CT the daughter of the late Franklin and Gertrude (Bradley) Barringer. She graduated from St. Francis Xavier Grammar School and Waterbury Catholic High School, Class of 1947. She worked as a scheduler at the Watertown VNA and for many years was a secretary at the accounting firm of Silverman, Pickett and Greenwood in Waterbury. She was an active member of the Waterbury Catholic High School Reunion Committee, which celebrated their 60th reunion in September 2007. She loved making crafts and many items for the St. Mary Magdalen Christmas Bazaar. As a member of the St. Mary Magdalen Parish she also worked in their AfterCare Program and loved working with the children.

Besides her loving husband of 57 years, Gertrude is survived by her two daughters, Sharon Pratt and her husband John of Oakville and Claudia Pappiano and her husband Robert of Watertown, her son Ronald Botelho and his wife Maria of New Britain CT. She also leaves three grandchildren, James DiDominzio and his wife Alicia of Naugatuck, Tony DiDominzio of Oakville and Evan Botelho of New Britain and two great grandchildren Reece and Ethan DiDominzio. She also leaves two sisters, Mary Ellen Mansfield of South Carolina and Eunice Barringer of Waterbury and a brother DeWitt "Bud" Barringer of South Carolina. She was pre-deceased by her sister Eileen Fitzgerald.

Funeral services for Mrs. Botelho will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 11:00am at the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St. Oakville. Burial will follow in MT Olivet Cemetery Watertown. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-8pm or Saturday morning after 9:30am. Memorial contribution in her memory may be made to St. Mary Magdalen School Building Fund 145 Buckingham St. Oakville CT 06779.
