WOLCOTT - Gloria L. (Tamburini) Del Buono of Wolcott, passed away peacefully at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Marys Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of Joseph A. Del Buono Sr.
Gloria was born in Waterbury CT the daughter of the late Umberto and Adelegisa (Montanaro) Tamburini. She was educated in local schools and graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School. She worked for many years for the State of CT, Superior Court, Family Relations Division and retired as Supervisor of the Unit. She loved her job and made many friends there. Gloria's tireless commitment to her job was matched only by her dedication to her family. For her family was everything. Whether cooking, making her famous sauce or just spending time, she was devoted to her grandchildren and they returned that devotion ten fold. Gloria had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh and was never a burden to anyone. She enjoyed the beach and was a devout Catholic, a member of St. Basil the Great Parish. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her love and memory, are her children; her sons, Joseph Jr and his wife, Beverly of Wolcott and Gary and his wife, Deborah of Plymoth MA, her daughters; Lori Del Buono Bartlett and her husband, Anthony of Wolcott and Gail Del Buono and her partner, David Hughes also of Wolcott. Gloria was blessed with 9 grandchildren who were the light of her life; Joey, Cristina, Daniel, Nick, Brett, Robert, Michael, Joey and Alex and one great granddaughter, Charley. She also leaves her brother, Louis R. Tamburini of Waterbury and several nieces, nephews and many friends. Gloria was predeceased by her older brother, Gino Tamburini.
Due to the current governmental restrictions concerning COVID 19, funeral services for Gloria will be held privately at the convenience of her family, A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated once restrictions are lifted. To honor her memory, donations may be made the St. Basil the Great Church, (St Pius X) 517 Woodtick Rd. Wolcott CT. Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury has been honored to assist the Del Buono family.
