SOUTHBURY - Mr. Gregory S. Watterworth Sr, age 58, of Heritage Village, beloved and proud son of Kenneth and Ann (DeVita) Watterworth, has passed away at his home after a long illness with cancer on Friday, July 18, 2014, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family.
Gregory was born on February 14, 1956 in Waterbury. He was a graduate of Holy Cross High School in Waterbury and went on to Boston College where he graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business. Upon graduating he worked at the family business Watterworth Inc. as an office manager and estimator. Greg's love for the water, swimming, and boating started at a young age when his granddad took him to the YMCA where he was asked to join their swimming and dive teams. He proceeded to swim his four years at Holy Cross High School and his love for music led him to begin his successful D.J. Company The Greg Watterworth Sound Service. He was also an Assistant Cub Scout leader in Southington, CT.
Besides his parents of Waterbury, Greg leaves three sons, Gregory Jr. and his wife Jillian, Jared and his wife Karyn and Kyle and his wife Nicole. His two grandchildren Connor and Brianna in addition to his two brothers, Kenneth Watterworth III and Dr. Bradford Watterworth and his wife Cindy.
Gregory's family would like to thank Hospice and their VNA nurse Jeff and also his 24 hour caregivers his nurse Nicole, aids Maryellen, Donna, and Linda for the comfort and love they gave him each day. Again many thanks
Funeral services for Mr. Watterworth will be held on Thursday July 24, 2014 9:00 am from Eastside Memorial, "A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center 1987 East Main St Waterbury CT. to St. Bridget's Church, West Main St Cheshire when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery. Relatives and friends may visit with Gregory's family on Wednesday evening July 23, 2014 from 5:00 till 8:00pm at the funeral home.
