Guy A. LoVetro

WATERBURY Mr. Guy A. LoVetro age 75, of Rosewood Ave. Waterbury, passed away peacefully Saturday June 15th at his home surrounded by his loving family after a long illness. He was the husband of MaryAnn (Carroll) LoVetro.

Guy was born in Johnstown PA on April 6th 1938, the son of the late Emanuel and Zenneda (Lushko) LoVetro. He was a graduate of Johnstown High School and proudly served his country with the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and later with the US Air Force during the Vietnam War Era. Guy worked as a purchasing agent for ITW Highlands Manufacturing until his retirement. He was the former leader of the Indian Guides, Waterbury YMCA and was very active with the Boy Scouts of America and was the Scout leader of Troop 302 sponsored by the WARC for boys and young men with special needs. Under his leadership, 8 scouts obtained the Eagle Scout rank including two of his own sons. His oldest son obtained the rank with Troop 42 under Guys Leadership. He was a Special Olympics' Softball coach and assisted with the bowling team and served as a third degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, Sheriden Council 24 and served as a fourth degree Knight with the Bishop O'Reilly Assembly. He was a longtime parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church.

Besides his wife MaryAnn of 50 years, Guy is survived by his children, Mark and his wife Marcy, Christopher, and Michael LoVetro all of Waterbury, Lori Schott of Waterbury and Patricia LoVetro and her partner Bruce Bartholomew of Waterbury. He also leaves his sister Janet Bambino of Johnstown, PA, two grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews

Guy's family would like to thank and acknowledge the Waterbury VNA Hospice program for the loving care and support they have provided to the LoVetro family during his illness.

Funeral Services for Mr. LoVetro will be held on Wednesday, June 19th, 2013 at 9:00am at SS Peter & Paul Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Those planning to attend are asked to meet directly at the church. Rites of committal will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Waterbury. Relatives and friends of Mr. LoVetro may visit with his family at Eastside Memorial, A CASEY FAMILY FUNERAL HOME AND TRIBUTE CENTER, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd on Tuesday evening from 5:00 ~8:00PM. Memorial donations may be sent to WARC 1929 East Main St. Waterbury in Mr. LoVetro's memory.
