AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - Mr. Harold Scott "Steve" Stevens age 81 of Shaw Farm Road died Friday, February 20 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was the husband of Colleen (Smith) Stevens.
Harold was born December 21, 1927 in Quincy, Mass a son of the late Harold Scott and Hazel Frances (Griffin) Stevens Sr. and lived in Oakville for the past nine years, moving from Seymour where he lived for 31 years. Steve had a BA in Accounting and prior to his retirement in 1986 was employed as Treasurer and Vice-President of the former Caldor Department Store. He was an animal lover who also loved the Red-Sox, UCONN men's and women's basketball, and the New England Patriots. He proudly served his country as a US Army Veteran of WWII.
Besides his wife of 55 years of Oakville, he leaves a son Norman Scott Stevens and his wife Linda of Kankakee, IL. and several nieces and nephews including his niece Lorie Bidmead and her husband Thomas, with whom he made his home and several great nieces and nephews.
Funeral Saturday February 28 at 11:30 a.m. at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street Oakville. Burial will be private and at the convenience of his family. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service at 11:30. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation, P.O.
