WATERBURY - In the early morning hours of Tuesday, October 18, 2022, Harry W. Morgan of Waterbury, Connecticut went home to eternal rest and glory, passing away peacefully in the comfort of his home. Harry died of natural causes, and primarily from a broken heart following the loss of his beloved wife Barbara Jean Herbert Morgan in January 2021. They are reunited in Heaven alongside their son Harry Morgan Jr (Teddy) who died at age 4 in 1968.
Born to the late Mack Sam Morgan and Mother Brownie Dillard Morgan in Hurt, Virginia on November 21, 1940, Harry's mom passed away suddenly when he was 9 years old. Harry moved to Waterbury when he was 14 and dropped out of school to work to help provide for his siblings. He went on to become a self-made businessman, accomplished operating engineer (50+ year member of I.U.O.E. local #478 union member) and man of many skills, talents, and trades. Harry Morgan's life was dedicated to providing for his family and being a man of God. Harry was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Waterbury, and he was also one of the founding members and trustees of Long Hill Bible Church, under the leadership of Reverend Eugene Davis. He retired from work Arborio Construction to physically build the foundation for the church LHBC. Harry was a past member of the Masonic temple and a past Grand Worthy Patron of Calisto chapter #4, of the Order of the Eastern Star of Connecticut. He will be remembered as always willing to give assistance to friends and family, no matter how difficult or how inconvenient the situation. His strong personality, yet warm, loving, nurturing nature made him endeared to friends and family.
