Mr. Harry Peresada

December 10, 1926 — January 6, 2025

A member of the greatest generation

THOMASTON - It is with heavy hearts that the family of Harry Peresada share the news of his peaceful passing at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family on January 06, 2025, at the age of 98. Harry was the beloved widower of Jean (Miller) Peresada to whom he was married to for 62 years.

Harry was born on December 10th, 1926, in Watertown, CT, the son of the late Wasily and Ann (Laboda) Peresada. He attended and graduated from Watertown schools, proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre, and then went on to work as a tool and die maker for Scovill Manufacturing. Harry's love for nature was evident in everything he did whether it was hunting, fishing, walking, or tending to his cherished garden. Travel was a cherished experience that he shared with his beloved wife Jean. Together, they embarked on countless adventures across the United States, and Canada. After retirement they moved to Brewster MA, on Cape Cod where they resided for 17 years, before Harry and his wife made the bittersweet decision to return to Connecticut to be closer to family when she was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease. Harry cherished the time spent with his family. He embodied the true essence of what it means to be a proud veteran, a devoted husband, and a loving father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all those who were blessed to love and know him.

Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his children; his son, Gary Peresada and his wife Joan, his daughter, Susan (Peresada) O'Connell, two grandchildren Sarah O'Connell and Tarah (Peresada) Spring, his step granddaughter, Jessica Vitale and his step grandson, Josh Torizzo, his great grandchildren; Isabella Pilja, Emory Vitale, Delilah Spring, and Theo Pilja, along with several nieces, nephews, and extended family. Harry was predeceased by not only his wife but his siblings; Andrew, Augusta, Nina, Amy, and Alex.

All services will be held privately at the convenience of his family. Casey- O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville, Ct 06779, has been honored to care for Harry and the Peresada family. In memory of Harry and his eternal devotion to his wife Jean, donations to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's research at https://www.michaeljfox.org/, would be very much appreciated by his family.
