AT THE O"NEILL FUNERAL HOME- Mrs. Hazel H. (Hills) Forte age 83 formerly of Falls Ave. Oakville, died Monday at Abbott Terrace Health Care Center in Waterbury. She was the widow of Gaetano J. Forte Sr.
Hazel was born August 15, 1925 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Frank and Hattie (Curtis) Hills and lived in Oakville most of her life. She was a graduate of Leavenworth High School Class of 1944. Hazel was employed as a telephone operator at Telephone Answering Service in Waterbury where she worked from 1962 to 1990. She later worked with NOW Inc. in the Meals on Wheels Program until her retirement in 2002. She loved to travel and enjoyed watching Soap Operas and Tennis. Hazel was a communicant of Saint Mary Magdalen Church where she was a member of the Rosary Society.
She leaves a son Gaetano J. Forte and his wife Carla of Bainbridge Island, WA., three daughters Judy Forte of Waterbury, Joyce Forte Kotsaftis and her husband Chris of Wolcott, Teresa Forte and her wife Jeanine LaBrosse of East Hartford, four grandchildren; Gregory Forte and his wife Tina of Watertown, Gaetano Forte and his wife Susan of Nassau, NY, Kate Kotsaftis Simon and her husband Jeff of West Hartford, Theodore Kotasftis and his wife Emily of Queens, NY, seven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Myrtle Stasaitis and two brothers William and Curtis Hills.
Funeral Saturday 8 a.m. from the O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main Street, Oakville to Saint Mary Magdalen Church for Mass at 9 a.m.. Burial will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Watertown.
