Fort Myers Florida - Helen Duffy age 95 of Fort Myers FL, formerly of Waterbury CT, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2013 at "Joann's House at Hope Hospice" in Bonita Springs Florida.
Helen was born September 17th 1917 in Waterbury, CT, the daughter of the late John and Anne (Ayotte) Duffy. She was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Notre Dame High School. Helen worked as an advertising Manager at Scovill Manufacturing for 47 years prior to her retirement. She moved to Florida in 1992 where she enjoyed spending time with her sister Hazel until Hazel's passing in 2004. Helen also enjoyed painting, bridge, playing bingo, ice skating and crafts..
Among her survivors are several nieces and nephews including Joy Reeves of Sebastopol CA, Marcy Ladrach of Tinley Park IL, William Duffy Jr of Chicago IL, Anne Gmazel of Manhattan IL, John Duffy of Chicago IL and Anthony Duffy of Darien IL. She is predeceased by her sister, Hazel Duffy and her brother, William J. Duffy.
Funeral services for Miss Duffy will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church 2157 Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers, Florida. Rites of Committal will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Calvary Cemetery Garden Mausoleum in Waterbury CT. Local funeral arrangements in Florida are being provided by Harvey Engelhart Funeral Home of Fort Myers Florida.
