WATERBURY - Helen (Hurley) Morrissey, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at the Harbors Unit of the Village at East Farms after an extended illness. She was the widow of Robert J. Morrissey
Mrs. Morrissey was born in Waterbury on February 2, 1920 the daughter of the late Jeremiah and Susan (Klish) Hurley. She was a graduate of St. Joseph's Grammar School and Wilby High School and attended Perry School of Business. Helen was employed as a secretary at WT Grant & Co in Waterbury and also worked as a Secretary for Chase Brass & Copper in the Chase Building on Grand St. Helen was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Loreto for eight years. Helen was a beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother and will be missed by her entire family.
Helen is survived by her two daughters, Roberta Ford and her husband, Francis of Waterbury and Linda Morrissey of Simsbury, her granddaughters; Susanne Nelson and her husband Bryan and Kimberly Pisani and her husband, Ralph and great granddaughters; Brooke, Paige and Taylor Nelson and Ava and Gabrielle Pisani. The family would like to thank and acknowledge the caregivers at the Harbors at East Farms, Excella and Vitas for the outstanding care and attention they shared with their Mom throughout her illness.
Funeral services for Mrs. Morrissey will be held on Friday, May 13, 2016 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church 182 Robbins St Waterbury at 10:00 a.m. Those planning to attend are kindly asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Casey's Eastside Memorial, Funeral Home1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd. Waterbury, CT has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
