WATERBURY - Helen M. Poplis, age 94, of Waterbury, entered into eternal rest on May 10, 2020 after a courageous battle with COVID-#19. She was the widow of Robert G. Poplis, Sr. to whom she was married for 51 years.
Helen was born on October 20, 1925 in Watertown Connecticut. She was the daughter of the late Archie and Josephine (Duhaime) Laneville. Helen attended Watertown schools and was employed by Scovill Manufacturing Co. of Oakville and the Gem Manufacturing Co. of Waterbury before retiring in 1990. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Loreto Church in Waterbury. She enjoyed being a homemaker and cooking with her husband. She maintained lifelong friendships with a special group of friends that she grew up with. Helen had a great fondness for cats. She had several over the years. She was a sweet, gentle person who always saw the good in everyone. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her love and legacy is her son; Robert Poplis, Jr. and his wife, Ramona Witt Poplis of Cheshire. She also leaves behind several nephews. Helen was predeceased by her sister, Rita Blinstrub.
Due to the current governmental restrictions regarding the pandemic, services will be held privately and at the convenience of her family. The immediate family and priest will be the only ones permitted to be at the gravesite during the ceremony.
