"A Life Well Lived"
WATERBURY - Helen R. (Unis) Dunn age 95 of Waterbury, Passed away peacefully at home with her entire family by her side on Sunday August 8, 2021. She was the devoted wife of 65 years to the late William T. Dunn Sr who passed in October 2013.
Helen was born in Hudson MA on July 20, 1926 the daughter of the late Stanley and Rose (Nicewicz) Unis. She was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and while she did work for several years as a Secretary at Campion Ambulance, she spent the majority of her adult life being a dedicated wife, mother homemaker and grandmother. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was adored by her family. She was caring, feisty and was always able to see the joy in life even during or through the toughest of time.
Family was everything to Helen; whether the annual trip to Wildwood, shopping with the girls, a grandchilds sporting event or a trip to the casino. She was always surrounded by some member of her family with a smile on her face. A woman of great faith, Helen was a longtime parishioner of St Francis Xavier Church where she was active in many parish activities. Helen will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to cherish her memory and honor her legacy are her children; William T. Dunn Jr and his wife, Patricia of Southington, David and his wife, Margaret, Joan Neth and her husband, Robert and Judy Verrastro and her husband, George all of Naugatuck. Bill and Helen were blessed with 15 grandchildren who were all devoted to them; William Dunn III, Robert Christopher, Sarah, David, Sandra, Stephanie, Rebecca, George, Shannon, Daniel, Kimberly, Joseph, Kevin and Karlyn and 19 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Jennifer Dunn.
Funeral services for Mrs. Dunn will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis Xavier Church 625 Baldwin St Waterbury at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Relatives and friends may visit with the Dunn family at Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury on Wednesday evening from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. We are all still concerned about the pandemic, consequently masks will be required at all times while indoors. To honor Helen's memory, a donation to a Veterans Organization of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
