AT THE O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME - OAKVILLE - WATERBURY - Henry J. Ponitoski age 87, of Parklawn Dr. Waterbury, died Saturday at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Sylvia (Gizzone) Ponitoski
Henry was born November 24, 1921 in Terryville and lived in Waterbury most of his life. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he was employed as a Production Control Manager for Airpax in Cheshire where he worked for over 30 years. Henry proudly served his country as a US Navy Veteran during World War II. He was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church.
Besides his wife of 58 years of Waterbury, he leaves three nephews and several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 10:00 am from the O'Neill Funeral Home 742 Main St Oakville to Blessed Sacrament Church, Robbins St. Waterbury for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Burial, with full military honors will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Waterbury. Visiting hours for Mr.Ponitoski have been scheduled for Wednesday morning from 9:00 till 10:00am at the funeral home. Memorial donations in his memory may be made to a local charity of the donor's choice.
