Mr. Heriberto Irizarry

OAKVILLE – Heriberto Irizarry, age 90, of Oakville passed away peacefully on October 18, 2022, in the
comfort of his home surrounded by his loving family. Heriberto was the husband of the late, Herminia
Irizarry.

Heriberto was born Ponce, Puerto Rico, on October 04, 1932, the son of the late Juan and Julia
(Narvaez) Irizarry. Heriberto served in the United States Army as a Sgt 1st class for over 20 years. He
served two tours in Vietnam and one tour in Korea. He met the love of his life in 1953, Herminia
Irizarry, to whom he was married to for over 64 years. After serving in the military, he worked as a
postal worker for USPS in Bronx, New York. Heriberto enjoyed spending time with his family but what
he loved the most was working on cars and being able to teach his children how to be great mechanics.
He will be truly missed by all those who were blessed to know and love him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory are his children, John F. Irizarry and his wife, Miriam,
of Bronx, NY, Ellis D. Irizarry and his wife, Mitzi, of Oakville, Crystal Valentin and her husband, Juan, of
Oakville. Grandchildren; Jessica, Gwen, Stephanie, Ariel, Justin, and Julius. His great grandchildren;
Ralphy Jr., Jax, Cameron and Elitza, and his god daughter, Pat. He also leaves his sister, Nereida, and
brother, Marty, along with his sister-in-law, Barbara.

Funeral services for Mr. Irizarry will be held on Friday, October 21, 2022, at 7:30 a.m. from Casey-
O’Neill funeral home, 742 Main Street, Oakville, to St. Mary Magdalen Church, Buckingham Street,
Oakville, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 8:00 a.m. Burial will follow in the State
Veterans Cemetery, Middletown, CT. Relatives and friends may visit with Heriberto’s family on
Thursday, October 20, 2022, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Loving-kindness is always
