Devoted Husband and Father

 WATERBURY- It is with broken hearts that the family of Heriberto Martinez, age 47, of Waterbury, share the news of his peaceful passing on Sunday February 9th, 2025, at Saint Mary’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Carmen Camacho.

Heriberto was born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, on September 10th, 1977, the son of Rosalia Duran of Waterbury and the late Felipe Martinez. Heriberto spent most of his adult life in Holyoke, eventually moving to Bridgeport then Waterbury, Connecticut. He was kind, had a great sense of humor, had a heart of gold and was committed to helping those in need, particularly the homeless. He took immense pride in caring for his beloved mother, Rosalia Duran, dedicating much of his time and energy to providing her with love and support. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his loving family and friends.

Besides his loving wife of 15 years, Carmen and his mother, Rosalia, left to cherish and honor his memory are his step- children; Viviana Luzey of Waterbury, Maryvella Gonzalez of New Haven, his son Jay Martinez of Holyoke, MA, his siblings; Antonio Lopez and his wife, Kristy of Denver, North Carolina, Carlos Lopez and his wife Margaret of Holyoke, MA, Rosalia Brantley and her husband, Steven of Wilson, NC and Felix Martinez of Waterbury. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and friends.
