HOWARD GEORGE FRANCE SR.
WATERTOWN- Howard George France Sr. age 69 of Sandbank Road died Wednesday evening at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Carol D. (McBennett) France.
Howard was born April 15, 1939 in Waterbury, a son of the late Everett and Dorothy (Lush) France and lived in Watertown for the past 37 years. He was a graduate of Kaynor Technical School in Waterbury. Prior to his retirement in 1998, he was employed as an engineer for Siemens USA in Cheshire. He also worked at Hayden Switch in Waterbury and Airpax/Phillips/VDO in Cheshire. He was an active member of the Watertown Customs, and the Waterbury BPOE Lodge # 265. He was a motorcycle and antique car enthusiast and enjoyed softball.
Besides his loving wife of 49 years, Howard is survived by a son, Howard G. France Jr. and his wife Nereida of Oakville and two grandchildren Daniel and Michael France, also of Oakville and two brothers, Everett France and his wife Susan of Creedmore NC and Allen France and his wife Rina of Waterbury. He was predeceased by his daughter, Sandra M. France in 1978
Funeral services for Mr. France are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. The O'Neill Funeral Home, 742 Main St Oakville, has been entrusted to assist the family with arrangements.
