WATERBURY - Mr. Hugo Polletta age 96 of Waterbury, passed away on Wednesday, August 13,2014 at the Vitas Innovative Care Unit of St. Marys Hospital surrounded by the love and comfort of his family. He was the husband of the late Carmela (Ursini) Polletta.
Hugo was born March 14, 1918 in Waterbury, the son of the late Gugario and Brigida (Yavecchio) Polletta. A lifelong Waterbury resident, he was educated in local schools and was employed for many years as a machinist at Sandur Tool & Die Co in Waterbury. Hugo was a proud founding member of the Waterbury Symphony Orchestra where he played violin for over 50 years. He was a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church in Waterbury.
Hugo is survived by his sons, Gregory and his wife Dianne and Edward and his wife Phyllis both of Waterbury, 4 grandchildren; Michael, Jennifer, Renee, Edward Jr. and one great granddaughter Guiliana.
Funeral services for Mr. Polletta will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2014 when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am. at SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury. Those planning to attend are asked to go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
