AT EASTSIDE MEMORIAL, "A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center - WATERBURY Mrs. Irene (Pernerewski) Carey, age 82, of Glenrock Rd Waterbury, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at her home. She was the widow of John Carey. .

Mrs. Carey was born on December 17, 1930 in Union City CT the daughter of the late Kasmir J. (Jack) and Veronica (Ambrozewicz) Pernerewski. Irene was educated in local schools and was employed for many years as a bookkeeper at Scovill Inc/Century Brass. Following her retirement she was employed at Stop & Shop, Waterbury. She was a lover of animals, especially cats and birds. She was a parishioner of SS Peter & Paul Church.

Irene is survived by two stepsons, Donald and David Carey. She also leaves two brothers, Paul Pernerewski of Waterbury and Richard Pernerewski of Willimantic as well as several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother Ronald Pernerewski

Funeral Services for Mrs. Carey will be held on Saturday January 5, 2013 at 10:00 am from EASTSIDE MEMORIAL, "A Casey Family Funeral Home and Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St Waterbury to SS Peter & Paul Church 67 Southmayd Rd Waterbury to celebrate the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family & friends may visit at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 till 10:00am.
