AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - WATERBURY CT. Mrs. Irene (Pavone) McGuire, age 84, of Greenmount Terrace, Waterbury, died Sunday, April 10, 2011 at Beacon Brook Healthcare Center in Naugatuck. Her husband of 63 years, John McGuire, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2011.
Mrs. McGuire was born in Waterbury on April 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Sciamanna) Pavone. She was educated in local schools and was more than just a homemaker and mother she was the glue that kept her family together. She was an avid NY Yankees fan and a parishioner of St. Patrick's Church in Waterbury
Mrs. McGuire is survived by her 2 sons, Jack McGuire and his wife Christine of Middlebury and Robert McGuire and Nancy Bombaci of Waterbury, his 2 daughters, Kathleen Michitsch and her husband Barry of Waterbury and Marie McGuire and Noeleen O'Connor of Waterbury. As one of 13 children she is survived by her sisters Katy Garner, Erma Mancinone and Ida Horn and her husband Jack all of Waterbury. She also leaves 2 brothers-in-law John Buonocore and John Pietrantuono.ois.
Mrs. McGuire will miss her adoring grandchildren, Jacquelyn Lattanzio, Christopher McGuire, Barry and Shanna Michitsch, Jessica and Julie McGuire and their mother Judy, her great grandchildren, Cailin, Kyle, and Carly McGuire and Anthony Lattanzio. Mrs. McGuire was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph, Mario, Domenic, Fred and Gino Pavone and sisters, Gilda Buonocore. Lena Pietrantuono, Claire Dubois, and Frances Pavone.
The McGuire family would like to express their personal appreciation and gratitude to all the staff at Beacon Book Healthcare Center and Saint Mary's Hospital as well as Doctor Donald Rosenthal and his staff and the Yale New Haven Hospital and Smilow Cancer Center for the special care and attention they have provided to the family over the past several months.
A joint funeral service for Mr. & Mrs. McGuire will be held this morning, Monday, April 11, 2011 at 9:00a.m. from the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home, 1581 East Main St, Waterbury to St Patrick's Church, Charles St Waterbury for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am. Burial will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home this morning from 8:00 till 9:00am. In Lieu of flowers memorial donations in Mr. & Mrs. McGuire's memory may be made to Beacon Brook Healthcare Center, 89 Weid Dr. Naugatuck, CT 06770.
