WATERBURY - Jacqueline C. Edwards, age 45, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Wednesday September 27, 2023, at St. Francis Hospital after a courageous health battle.
Jacqueline was born May 4, 1978, in May Pen, Jamaica, the daughter of Ronald Edwards and the late Delores Grandison. She was a graduate of Crosby High School and attended Southern Connecticut State University. Jacqueline spent many years working as a paraprofessional for the City of Waterbury, most recently at the Waterbury Arts Magnet School. Jacqueline loved to laugh and was always smiling but was happiest surrounded by the love and support of her family. She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know and love her.
Left to honor her legacy and cherish her memory are her daughters; Yakira Edwards, Kamaria Az-Ibo, and Poetri Az-Ibo, all of Waterbury, her husband, Ernest Odom of Bristol, her sisters; Alyssa Edwards and Latoya Blair of Waterbury and her brother, Donovan Edwards of Danbury, as well as other extended family members and many friends.
A Memorial Gathering for Mrs. Edwards will be held on October 28, 2023, from 1:00 to 4:00pm pm at Casey’s Eastside Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1987 East Main Street, Waterbury.
