James E. Hellmann

October 9, 1944 — March 24, 2016

WATERBURY- Mr. James E. Hellmann, age 71 of Waterbury, passed away on Thursday March 24th, 2016 surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after an extended illness. He was the husband of the late Kathleen M. Hellmann.

James was born in Waterbury on October 9, 1944, the son of the late Joseph Edwin and Agnes (Balling) Hellmann. He was educated in local schools and worked his entire career at CMS Graphite in Cheshire as a machinist until his retirement. James was a veteran of the US Army and proudly served his country stationed at Fort Meade MD. He enjoyed traveling with his family and fishing, but his most treasured time was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Among his survivors are his children: Gary Hellmann and his partner, Jeffrey Garrand, his daughters, Cindy Berube and her husband, Peter, Jennifer Wynn and her husband, Terry and his grandchildren: Jordan, Michaela, and Sienna Wynn. He also leaves a sister, Joanne Tropasso and her husband, Joseph and a brother, Joseph Hellman and his wife, Rita and several nieces and nephews.


A funeral service for Mr. Hellmann will be held on Tuesday March 29th, 2016 at 6;45pm at Eastside Memorial, " A Casey Family Funeral Home & Tribute Center" 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd Waterbury, CT 06705 Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Friends and family may visit with James family on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 from 5:00pm until the services at 6:45pm at the funeral home.
