WATERBURY - It is with heavy hearts that the family of James Rodney (Chad) Ireland age 59 of Waterbury, announce his unexpected passing on Sunday July 7, 2024 at St Mary’s Hospital. James was predeceased by his older siblings, brother Alvin Pope & sister Marilyn (Ann) Ireland-Hoffler. James is survived by his son James (Bro) Ireland, mother Clara (Pope) Ireland, older sister Yvonne Ireland-Ligon (Reginald Ligon), older brothers Lee Ireland (Judi Campoli), Bernard Ireland, niece Regina Nicole Bussey (Chrishawn Dawkins), several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews & cousins.  

James will be remembered as someone who loved to laugh. He was known for giving many people nicknames which have stuck with all of us throughout the years. To honor James’ memory, donations to the Harold Leever Regional Cancer Center, 1048 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT 06708 would be greatly appreciated. The family appreciates all the condolences & support from family & friends.
