THE CASEY FAMILY IS HONORED TO BE ASSISTING AND CARING FOR THE FAMILY OF JAMES LOMBARDI

WATERBURY - Mr. James J. Lombardi age 84 of Waterbury, passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Saint Mary's Hospital, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family after a brief illness. He was the husband of Carol (Ruccio) Lombardi.

James was born July 25, 1933 in West Hartford, CT and was raised in Waterbury. He was a graduate of Wilby High School and proudly served his country with the US Air Force as a Sergeant during the Korean War conflict. He continued his studies and received his associate degree in business from Mattatuck Community College. He spent many years working for Hemingway Corporation and retired as a supervisor from Sherwood Packing. He was a member of the Oakville VFW, Post 7330 and the Oakville American Legion, Post 195. James was a former local baseball umpire, was a fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants, and was a member of the Waterbury Sportsman Club, Lakewood Social Club, and Hill St Social Club. He was a parishioner of the Basilica of The Immaculate Conception.

Besides his wife Carol of 56 years, James is survived by his son, Joseph Lombardi and his wife, Patricia of Watertown, his daughter, Robin Bacon and her husband, John of Wolcott, and his grandson, Corey James Martin. In addition, he leaves behind his god daughter, Michelle Napiello White, his sister in law, Ernestine Napiello and his sister and brother in law, Patricia & Arthur Palombo as well as several nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He was predeceased by his brother, John Napiello and sister, Theresa Smith.

Funeral services for Mr. Lombardi will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. from Casey's Eastside Memorial Funeral Home 1987 East Main St @ Southmayd Rd, Waterbury, CT to The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception Church, 74 West Main St Waterbury when a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Watertown. Relatives and friends may visit with James' family on Saturday morning from 8:00 am until 9:30 a.m..
