WATERBURY- James (Jimmy) Mann, age 69 of Waterbury, passed away on Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Waterbury Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Dorine (Cefaretti) Mann.
James was born on July 21, 1952, in Waterbury, son of the late Marjorie (Pratt) and Harold Joseph Mann Sr. He was raised in Waterbury, attended Sprague Elementary School, and then graduated from Kennedy High School. After graduation at 18 years old, Jimmy went to South Korea and served our country with honor. Before retirement he was a custodian in the Waterbury School System. Jimmy was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 7330. Jimmy enjoyed working with wood and making things. He loved to play cards, read books, and go fishing. Jimmy was greatly loved by his family and will be missed by all those who had the joy of knowing him.
Left to honor his legacy and cherish his memory is his stepson, John (Deanna) Russo of Watertown, his four grandchildren, his brothers; Richard, Robert, Paul, and Walter Mann, his sisters; Sheryl Mann, Catherine Gordon, Jean D'Agostino, and Debra Boulier. He was predeceased by siblings, Gloria Potter and Harold Mann Jr.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022, at 12:00 p.m. at New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. All those planning to attend are kindly asked to meet directly at the cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
