AT THE CASEY-O'DONNELL FAMILY FUNERAL HOME - WATERBURY- BETHLEHEM CT. James J. McAree Jr., age 92 of Carmel Hill Rd Bethlehem, formerly of Waterbury, died Friday at Wolcott View Manor Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Dusseault) McAree.
James was born in Waterbury on December 7, 1917, a son of the late James J. McAree Sr. and Anna (Haynor) McAree. He was educated in local schools and was a machinist for Chase Brass and Copper in Waterbury, retiring after 39 years of service. In retirement he worked in Security at Scovill Mfg. in Waterbury. James was an avid golfer and enjoyed his golfing, friends and family.
Mr. MacAree is survived by his daughter Joyce Pavio and her husband Dave of Bethlehem, with whom he made his home. He also leaves a brother Dick McAree of Massachusetts and his grandchildren, Steven, Scott and Patrick and great granddaughter, Isobel. James was predeceased by his two sons, Robert Walter McAree and James Edward McAree.
Funeral Services for Mr. McAree will be held on Monday, August 23, 2010, at the Casey-O'Donnell Family Funeral Home 1581 East Main St Waterbury with a prayer service at 6:30pm. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home Monday evening from from 5-7pm. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
